A Moment With Pastor Fred
A month ago now we had the privilege of hearing Stuart Scott. He spoke 6 times on various topics. I needed to process what I heard. Below is what I wrote down in my notes. I hope these will encourage you.
“Outdo each other in showing honor. Other people are more important than you.”
“The glory of God is the main theme in the Bible. Do we eclipse God’s glory or reflect it?”
“There are about 30 attributes of God. Write them out and focus on each one during your devotions. Focus on who God is rather than on what your circumstances are.”
“Everything is perfect in the first 2 chapters and the last 2 chapters of the Bible. Everything else in between is tainted by sin.”
“Sovereignty alone does not bring comfort. We must also focus on God’s love and his wisdom.”
“If we’re not thinking biblically God will always be distorted. The 10 spies’ report was factual, but God called it a bad report – literally, wicked report. Why? Because God was absent. Even if what is going on in life is factual, if God is absent then it is an evil report.”
“If you want a blaze on Sunday then you must stir the coals Saturday night. Sunday worship begins Saturday night.”
