A Moment With Pastor Fred

I am deeply grieved over Proposal 3. It promotes any and all abortion up to delivery.  Even certain pro-abortion groups are opposed to it for it goes far beyond Roe v. Wade. And yet we continue to hear arguments for it – commercials from doctors, nurseries, politicians, etc.  I read recently, “We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, of killings, of wars, of hatred. If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other?  A nation that kills its children in the womb has lost its soul.” 

Has America lost its soul?  The Bible clearly teaches life begins in the womb. We as a church uphold the sanctify of human life. God made us in his image.  It might not be politically correct today, but we must be faithful to what the Scriptures teach – not to what culture or political loyalties demand.

 At the same time of being faithful we must also be compassionate.  Many have suffered from the aftermath of having an abortion.  It is not the unpardonable sin. God offers forgiveness – hope is found in Christ.

Regardless of what happens this week – I know our Savior actively sits in sovereign control over all the things that confuse, overwhelm or disturb me. Yet I must do all I can – and trust him to do what only he can. Our nation needs revival. With this being Reformation Sunday – we need a new spiritual awakening, not political fixes but God changing human hearts.  ~ November 3, 2022
