A Moment With Pastor Fred
Spring is coming. It might start looking like it with daylight savings time in place. Spring though officially arrives next Monday. It might not feel like it for a while but it’s coming. Maybe you’re still dealing with those “winter blues.” I have good news.
Friday, March 24, the Depoorters have invited the church family over for a “game night.” Of course, there will be food available too! What a wonderful opportunity to spend time with God’s people. Please sign up if you’re attending – there’s a sign-up list on the table in the foyer. No one likes to plan a dinner party for 4 and have10 show up unannounced, so please, sign up. Thank you.
The NT contains 30 “one another” commands. Love one another, Jn 13:34; honor one another; Rom 12:10; be kind one to another, Eph 4:32; encourage one another, 1 Thess 5:11 – and so on. Much of the “one anothers” are hard to practice on Sunday morning. Times like the Game Nite are tremendous opportunities for us to get together. We go all out to create occasions for the church to meet outside of these four walls. Take advantage of this time.
We were never made to live the Christian life on our own. To say that we can do it alone without the benefit of fellowship is as inaccurate as saying a body is fully functional without ears or eyes. It takes a church to raise a Christian.
