A Moment With Pastor Fred
One of the greatest things we’ve done here as far as impacting our community has been Trunk-n-Treat. The 100s of people who have walked thru our parking lot has been amazing. And the last time 1000 folks walked in our church due to a freak snowstorm Halloween night! Over and over again I would heard things like, “Thank you for doing this,” or “We so appreciate your church having this for us.” We took a break when COVID hit, but once again, we’re opening our hearts to our community October 31, just two weeks away. Yes, I know Halloween and its associations, but we seek to redeem this cultural event as a means of being good neighbors.
Special thanks to Matthew Price and Joe Cecil for organizing this event. We need volunteers to decorate cars and themselves – we need others to assist and still others to donate candy.
The world might celebrate with ghosts and witches – so let us be different in how we decorate our cars – wholesome fun stuff. Let’s use this tradition of boys and girls collecting candy as an opportunity to serve our community and to showcase our church. Get those creative juices flowing! The sign-up list is on the kiosk in the foyer.
We understand this is not a direct witnessing event – where we share verbally the gospel. It is however an outreach event where we seek to establish relationships with our neighbors and members of our community.
