A Moment With Pastor Fred

Last Sunday at the annual meeting we distributed the brochure outlining our new strategic plan. Copies can be found at the kiosk. Special thanks to Heather Anderson for her  design. May I encourage you to use this to give to someone?  In the past we’ve had folks join the church because we had such a plan. No, we don’t have all our ducks in a row  today – but we have goals to see fulfilled in the coming four years. How exciting to be a part of this plan! I borrow from what Paul Krepps wrote in one of our former plans.

“As God’s people, we first commit ourselves to the Lord and then his work. Our strategic plan is our understanding of what God has for Holt Baptist Church, using the resources he has blessed us with and the grace he freely bestows anew every day. This plan reflects our core values, represents our mission to build up one another and to proclaim Christ while we look to his glorious coming. We put this plan forward in the spirit of James’ admonition to make all of our plans without presumption and instead to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’” 

Special thanks to those who participated in the planning process. It began last March at Youth Haven Ranch where the ministry team began to dream. Suggestions were offered – prayer has gone into the process too. The church as whole was involved and affirmed last month our plan by a unanimous vote. It is our express hope that Christ will be magnified thru HBC as a result of the fulfilment of this plan. Pray for our ministry team as we meet Saturday to flesh out this plan. To God be the glory.
