A Moment With Pastor Fred
2/1/19
Today we will hold our annual congregational meeting. If you are a member it is important you attend. Our meetings in the past haven’t lasted too long – but they’re necessary to keep the lines of communication open. We appreciate the many hours the finance team worked on our proposed 2019 budget (copies are available at the kiosk). There are necessary facility repairs (a leaky roof for one) calling our immediate attention.
Nominees for the ministry team need to be affirmed as well.
Before the meeting we will enjoy lunch. Again, please stay.
We have much to rejoice about. Fourteen new members joined HBC in 2018. We saw several salvation decisions followed through with baptism. We finished the year $18,000 over budget. Lives are being changed. People affirm their love for the church. God is good.
We’re entering our last year in our current strategic plan.
Much has been done in the last two years. More needs to be completed. But 2019 will be a year of evaluation and re-setting of goals too as we think ahead. “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream another dream.” John Piper said, “Life is too short, too precious, too painful to waste on worldly bubbles that burst. Heaven is too great, hell is too horrible, eternity is too long that we should putter around on the porch of eternity.” There is much to do until Christ returns or calls us home. The future of Holt Baptist Church is as bright as the faithfulness of our God.
