A Moment With Pastor Fred
Today is the Sanctity of Life Sunday. It’s been 50 years since Roe v Wade changed America. I’m sure the justices who ruled that fateful day could not have imagined the 60 million plus lives lost. The court once again heard arguments about this matter. We must commit this to God in prayer. Fall-out will occur regardless of the outcome.
Abortion has been a political landmine for many. But I’m not talking about that here. I’m concerned about our church, our members and what we think about the sanctify of human life. We as a church are unapologetically prolife. We believe the Bible teaches human life is sacred, not just the unborn by those near the end of life as well. Tragically we’ve all grown accustomed to abortion. Maybe you’ve lost the horror of it. Let us not become desensitized to our culture. We need to see the unborn from God’s perspective – as a precious life.
Now if you had an abortion God offers forgiveness through Christ. There’s no sin that’s unforgiveable. Flee to Jesus. Seek godly counsel (call our church office).
In Ps 139 the psalmist writes, For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb … My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret … Your eyes saw my unformed substance. It matters little about a woman’s circumstance or her right to choose. We are made in God’s image – we’re image bearers. Life is sacred. Let us speak up when necessary. Let’s us speak the truth in love to those who’ve fallen. Let us pray for our nation which desperately needs Christ.
