A Moment With Pastor Fred
Are you taking advantage of the extra hour on Sunday mornings to be under the teaching of God’s Word?
We have a class for boys and girls taught by Cindy Price and Starla Ordiway. Our curriculum takes children through the Bible over several years. It is thoroughly biblical, and our teachers gifted. Joe Hart, along with Matt and Katherine Moore are going through a video series with the teens helping them to have a biblical worldview.
For the adults we started last Sunday studying Galatians chapter by chapter. Next week is chapter 3 and so on. Six of our men are taking turns instructing us. Each lesson stands on its own so if you missed the first two, no worries.
When you consider all the other hours we invest in the week, one additional hour (it’s really 45 minutes) in the study of God’s Word isn’t too much. As we begin a new year, what a great opportunity to start the habit of coming at 9:30 am. Nurseries are also provided to help care for the little ones. It’s important we expose our children to God’s Word on their level. We need it too. Try it out. Develop the habit.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth, 2 Tim 2:15. We must be committed to the hard task of understanding the Scriptures. “Rightly handling” literally reads “cutting it straight.” This is a call for accuracy. We desire to carefully, prayerfully and wisely teach God’s Word in all sorts of settings. Sunday School for children and teens along with the class for adults is just one. After all, it is the Word of truth.
