A Moment With Pastor Fred
“Godly people, wise and experienced in living the Word, have applied God’s Word to the problems of life in all times and places.” So wrote the late David Powlison. The Apostle Paul said, “I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another,“ Rom 15:14. We could translate his words, able to instruct as competent to counsel.
I am thankful for our counseling ministry. Call it whatever you will – mentoring, life or life, discipleship, growing in your Christian walk, progressive sanctification, etc. It is all the same. No Christian is ever without the need of biblical counsel; no Christian is excused from being a biblical counselor. Biblical counseling is taking the Bible and showing how it applies to our daily problems.
It is a joy having Dr. Stuart Scott with us today. He teaches biblical counseling at The Master’s University in Santa Clarita, CA (north of Los Angeles). Stuart spoke this past Friday and Saturday at our spring Bible seminar. He is teaching this morning in our adult Bible class as well as preaching in the worship service. Stuart has over 40 years of experience in counseling and pastoral ministry. He is the Membership Director and a Fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Several here, including myself are part of ACBC – others are in the certification process. Stuart is married to his wife Zondra and they have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
Please thank Stuart for coming to minister to us this weekend. May God continue to bless his ministry.
