A Moment With Pastor Fred
09/06/19
In the last several weeks millions of children began or returned to school. Within our church we have families representing the 3 means of education: public, Christian and home school. All 3 are valid. Each family must prayerfully and carefully decide what is the best choice for them without fear of judgment by peers. I appreciate the spirit that exists here in allowing parents that freedom.
Also within our church family are a variety of teachers – again, from all 3 categories. I applaud all of our teachers. It is hard work. My mother taught in the public school system for 30 years. My sister teaches in a Christian school in SC. Several of you teach out of your home. Regardless of where one teaches the job is never done.
Will you join me in praying for our children? Each child regardless of where he/she attends faces challenges and temptations. Let’s pray for our teachers – asking God to strengthen them this school year and for wisdom as they invest themselves in the next generation. And let’s pray for our parents. When our 4 kids were at home, we too faced the dilemma of what to do – where to send them or how will we teach them. Each choice has its share of rewards and accountabilities. These are decisions every parent wrestles with.
May our good and great God give our children and our teachers a profitable year at school.
