A Moment With Pastor Fred
One of the most dangerous things a Christian can do right now is neglect Bible reading. An array of voices seek to convince us on how to think.
My advice: more Scripture. Less social media.
In January I decided to read the Bible thru in a year – using the chart we made available. In these past few months I’m doing it differently. I am enjoying listening to the Bible. I downloaded on my phone Bible Gateway (its free). I can listen to God’s Word read to me. There are various options as to what version you prefer. I’m using the NIV.
People say, “I just wish God would speak to me.” I have good news. He has! Pick up your Bible and read it. And if you want to hear God’s voice – have it read to you out loud! Bible reading – or listening, is absolutely essential for spiritual growth. You will not become a mature, godly believer without immersing yourself in Scripture. John Bunyon said, “This book will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from this book.” I hope you are regular in your quiet time. And if perhaps you need a new twist – try listening to the Bible. I recommend it.
