A Moment With Pastor Fred
5/31/19
One of our core values here at HBC is prayer. God commands us to pray. The early church was involved in prayer. Ac 1:14; 2:42; 4:23-31; 12:5; 13:2-3; 14:23; 16:25; 20:36. Historically churches held mid-week prayer meetings. Our small groups are designed to include times of prayer. We pray in our services as well. But there are times when we need to specifically focus on prayer.
The elders have designated June and July as such prayer times during the normal ABF hour (9:30-10:15 am on Sundays). Everyone will be in the auditorium – kids, teens and adults (nurseries will still be open). A number of men have agreed to lead each Sunday with a specific topic in mind. Please make attending our concert of prayer a priority. Even if you don’t normally attend the ABF/SS hour, we all need to pray. And we need to pray together as a church family. The prayer time will vary – music may be involved. This will be a spiritually uplifting time.
Kevin DeYoung said, “If all your prayers came true this week, who would be converted, whose marriage would be restored, what great gospel advance might there be, and what missionaries would be sent out?”
We are calling on you as part of the church to pray with us and pray together. See you at 9:30 am next Sunday.
