A Moment With Pastor Fred
Cal Alderink is our special guest speaker today. I met Cal last fall when he introduced himself as a representative with Forgotten Man Ministries. He is chaplain at the Ingham County Jail. Cal has visited in the past. Cal and Laurie were in our home a few weeks ago as we enjoyed wonderful fellowship together. Let him know of your appreciation in opening the Word today.
Thank you for praying for Sue and me while we’ve enjoyed these past two weeks of vacation. I’ll be back in the office Tuesday. I love the story of Vance Havnor, the old southern evangelist 70 years ago who commented after being told the devil never takes a vacation. Havnor said, “I’m not patterning my life after the devil. I’m following Christ who said, ‘come ye apart and rest a little while.’”
I am very appreciative of the time given for me to “rest a little while.” We all need our batteries recharged – not just physically and emotionally but spiritually too. So, again, thank you for this time.
