A Moment With Pastor Fred

Several of us involved in our counseling ministry have had the privilege of sitting under the teaching ministry of Dr. Stuart Scott. He was a favorite and frequent speaker at Faith Lafayette’s counseling conference. Stuart currently teaches biblical counseling at The Master’s University – connected to John MacArthur in southern California. He is the author of numerous books.   

Stuart has graciously agreed to come to Holt Baptist for a spring seminar, April 22-24. Mark these dates please. We would love to see your participation. Friday night our emphasis will be on marriage. We desire to build strong godly homes here at HBC. Perhaps you are not married – you could be a huge help by volunteering to babysit for some of our couples. Sue and I will celebrate 43 years of marriage this summer – and we always welcome more teaching on how to improve our marriage. Saturday morning we’ll change course as the topic is “From Discouragement to Contentment.” We need such teaching in our day, don’t we? The seminar will conclude by noon. 

A free will offering will be collected Friday and Saturday. Anything that comes in goes directly to Stuart. We need help with greeters, bringing cookies, setting up refreshments Friday and Saturday.

Dr. Scott will stay over on Sunday. He’ll teach in the auditorium at 9:30 am and preach in our worship service. Please pray for God to bless our conference, to keep Stuart healthy, for attendance and all the details connected with such an event.
