A Moment With Pastor Fred

Welcome to our services this Easter morning! Our tradition here at Holt Baptist Church – and many other churches is to begin this service with “Christ is risen!” You as the congregation will respond enthusiastically with, “He is risen indeed.” Be ready!  

Though not a professing Christian (he was a Deist), Benjamin Franklin wrote the following epitaph for himself.

“The body of Benjamin Franklin – Printer.  Like the cover of an old book, its contents torn out and stript of its lettering lies here food for worms but the work itself shall not be lost for it will reappear once more in a new and more elegant edition revised and corrected by the Author”.

Wow! Did you know that Christ’s resurrection guarantees the believer’s future resurrection? One day I, along with all Christians, will get a brand new body – and this time it will be perfect, flawless – fit for eternity! You ask, “How can this be?” The Bible asks the question, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” The angel Gabriel answered, “Nothing is impossible with God.” Christian, rejoice in this truth! 

Dear friend, do you know Christ today? His promises are real and true. He said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies.” What a wonderful day to make sure of your eternal destiny. Please feel free to ask if you have questions.
