A Moment With Pastor Fred
A man was surprised at how good his friend was at target practice. The side of the barn was full of arrows – each dead-center in the bull’s eye. “How did you get so efficient in archery?” asked the man. His friend replied, “I don’t know, I just shoot an arrow and then draw a circle around it.”
Last spring church leadership met to discuss a new strategic plan as we conclude our current one. We don’t want to indiscriminately draw bull’s eyes at whatever we hit. We are humbled at the initiatives God has allowed us to fulfill in the last 16 years – over 100. Long range planning isn’t presumptuous for divine planning always involves a submissive spirit to God’s will. Ja 4:15, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”
A church survey is being developed. It will soon be distributed in various ways to you. We’re asking the congregation to fill this survey out. We want to hear from you. We need to hear from you.
Our goal will be to review these surveys and come up with a workable plan. The congregation will be involved in a “family chat” come early fall with a formal vote of approval in the late fall. Each member in the body of Christ will play a part in fulfilling our new strategic plan. Exciting days at HBC!
Proverbs 16:30, “Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
