A Moment With Pastor Fred
Last Sunday was my turn in the nursery to work.
My heart wasn’t in it; my feelings were hurt.
A child from its mother did not want to part,
And cried a lot with her little broken heart.
I prayed that soon the hour would end,
That I could relax – no more children to tend.
Soon the hour was over, it felt good to be free.
I said, “Once a month was too much for me!”
That very next Sunday as I sat in the pew,
A very good sermon, but visitors few.
But down came a woman and her soul was saved.
She was the mother of that crying babe.
Then it dawned on me that I had been a part
Of one being saved, giving God her heart.
From this day forward, I never will dread,
Working in the nursery, while souls are being fed.
A special thank you to Julie Rizzardi and her team who serve Christ in this vital ministry. Working in the nursery is more than sanctified babysitting. It is ministry. Kids are gold. The future of HBC is in our children. We need those who will help in this all important ministry. Please consider talking to Julie and asking how you can help.
In our recent survey it was mentioned we need more attention given to children’s ministry. Those currently serving are doing all they can – the bottom line is we need more help. Since children are an integral part of our ministry we must demonstrate that in tangible ways.
