A Moment With Pastor Fred
What a joy to welcome home Josh and Carrisa Bell – and their two daughters, Vesper and Lina. HBC is the home and spending church for the Bells as they minister in Senegal.
Years ago, Carissa was 18 years old – and a student at what was at that time New Tribes Bible Institute in Jackson. She came go visit and eventually joined serving in various capacities. It wasn’t long that a young man interested in her tagged along. What a joy it was to baptize Josh as he too joined HBC. It was a delight to marry them. We included Josh in that strategic plan which included a summer internship. The Bells lived in our basement. Having completed their studies in Jackson they moved to Missouri where they received more training with what then had become Ethnos360. Deputation meant raising support. Eventually HBC commissioned them to go to Senegal. And yet God in his providence moved Josh from actual church-planting to heading up a training center to disciple western Africans in how to plant churches.
Today, Josh and Carissa will share that ministry during our service. We’ve asked him to preach as well. Our friends will return to Senegal soon. While they are going – we can actively be part of their ministry by praying for them. If you haven’t met them – introduce yourself. What a privilege we have to be a part of this wonderful ministry. After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
