A Moment With Pastor Fred
Bringing young children to church takes preparation and patience, but every Sunday is a beautiful opportunity to help them grow in their love for Jesus. Matthew Price put together a list of things they do to help.
Saturday Night
☐ Lay out clothes and shoes
☐ Pack Bibles, quiet activities, crayons and notebook
☐ Get to bed at a decent hour
Sunday Morning
☐ Ask God to help your family worship him
☐ Arrive a early before the service begins
☐ Breakfast refreshments are available at 9:00 am
☐ Before service starts use the bathroom.
☐ All nursery volunteers are background-checked. For toddlers – playtime, snacks, and a short story. To prevent separation anxiety, say goodbyes at the door. If your child needs you, you’ll be texted.
☐ Activity Sheets are available on the table foyer for children to help them in the main worship service.
During Worship
☐ Encourage your children sing, pray, follow the sermon sheet, and listen for something they can learn.
☐ Children learn to sit, listen, and participate through patience, guidance, and practice.
☐ Not every Sunday will go perfectly. Keep at it. Remember that learning to worship takes time.
We teach our children the importance of worship by modeling it ourselves. Let’s encourage each other showing grace to our little ones, and rejoicing that new generation is growing up among us.
