Just a Moment…
What plans do you have for Wednesday, July 10th? It’s only 1½ weeks away. “A Night of Missions” will be hosted here at HBC. Three of our missionaries: Josh and Carissa Bell (Senegal); Dave and Jan Santos (Brazil); and Ryan and Abigal de Roos (Philippines) will be here that evening. The night begins with a potluck meal. Please sign up for the potluck and consider giving toward the gift baskets for our missionaries. A jar will be in the foyer for your donations.
Following the meal we’ll have a time of praise as we listen to our friends. The missions team has spent a lot of time preparing, planning and praying for this event. Nursery and childcare will be provided by friends of HBC so no one in the church family will miss out. Each of our missionaries will be asked to present, “A Day in the Life of a Missionary” followed by a Q&A time. What a wonderful opportunity for us to have 3 of our missionaries here at the same time. The evening will wrap up by 8pm.
This will not only be a blessing to you – but your presence will be an encouragement to our missionaries. They are on the frontlines – serving and often experience loneliness as they are apart from family and church back home. What a treat for them to see our fellowship hall full and that our congregation interested in their ministries. Last week we read of that first missionary conference with Paul and Barnabas in Acts 14. It’s an exciting time to experience what God is doing overseas in each of our missionary’s lives. Let’s pray for a time of worship, reflection and thanksgiving as we have this unique opportunity.
