Our senior saints are studying Revelation on Wednesdays. We’ve been looking at the 7 churches found in Rev 2-3. A few weeks ago, we discussed the church at Sardis. The glorified Christ looked at this church and pronounced it dead. We don’t know what caused its death but Chuck Swindoll offers 5 potential church killers: […]
Bringing young children to church takes preparation and patience, but every Sunday is a beautiful opportunity to help them grow in their love for Jesus. Matthew Price put together a list of things they do to help. Saturday Night ☐ Lay out clothes and shoes ☐ Pack Bibles, quiet activities, crayons and notebook ☐ Get […]
What a joy to welcome home Josh and Carrisa Bell – and their two daughters, Vesper and Lina. HBC is the home and spending church for the Bells as they minister in Senegal. Years ago, Carissa was 18 years old – and a student at what was at that time New Tribes Bible Institute in […]
I’ve heard several times the average family is over $15,000 in credit card debt. Financial counselor Dave Ramsey writes, “How you spend your money tells a story. Susan and I listened to a podcast by Ken Ham regarding the Lindsey Clancey case. How should Christians respond? Let me summarize his comments with my own. Lindsey acknowledges she strangled her 3 children in January 2023. She then attempted to take her own life by jumping from a window leaving her paralyzed. Her defense argued she […]
It’s FALL IN SUNDAY! I love the fall season. Maybe it’s because I equate the fall with a new beginning – probably going back to when I started a new grade in school. The summer is over and a new chapter begins. Today we resume Sunday School and Adult Bible Fellowships, as well as a new […]
Jesus loves children. One of the most precious portraits of him is holding them in his arms, Mk 10. The disciples saw these parents bringing children to Jesus as an interruption into his busy schedule. Jesus had much more important concerns than to be bothered by noisy, squirming children. “The Master is busy – be […]
