A Moment With Pastor Fred
Special thanks to Graig and Mary Hayes for opening their home and patio for a time of fellowship this evening. Plan on arriving around 5 pm for an ice cream fellowship potluck. Krepps have opened their drive so park next door and walk over. I love how we create opportunities to get together as God’s people outside the four walls of this church building.
Next Sunday is FALL FORWARD! It begins at 9:30 am in the auditorium. Joe Cecil will report the results of our recent church survey. Paul Krepps will explain how making a strategic plan is so important. Children and teens will join us for the next few weeks in a series, “Church Matters.” Read Ephesians 4:7-16 to see how the Apostle Paul gives instructions for true church growth. I will address this passage with applications for us at HBC in the worship service. Following we will have a chili dog lunch outside in the parking lot. After the summer break it will be nice to gear up for our fall ministries.
Women and men’s Bible studies resume on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm. Ladies will focus on a book by Kay Arthur, “As Silver Refined” (books at $13). The same study begins Sundays at 9:30 am October 1. Men, our book study is the Gospel of Mark (study guides are $9). Our senior saints resume their Wednesday study in Genesis this week at 10:30 am.
On September 17 I begin a new series in Ecclesiastes. Later that night or the following week small groups resume. If you are not part of a group, please see me and we can share what options are available.
What an exciting time for our church family! I love the fall.
