A Moment With Pastor Fred
10/6/19
Trunk-n-Treat has become our most effective outreach in the community. Yes, it is low-key but the number of people who comment and thank us each Halloween night is impressive. And no, we haven’t seen any visible fruit from our endeavors, but the word is out, Holt Baptist cares about its community. That is important. We will pray that our work will be used by the Holy Spirit to draw men and women, boys and girls to HBC and eventually to Christ.
Last year 1000 people walked through our parking lot collecting candy. That’s not a ball-park estimate but an actual count. We need volunteers to help with set up and bringing candy – but most of all we need you to come to decorate your trunk and yourself! Please, no witches, goblins or devils. Make your costumes not just family friendly but gospel-welcoming too.
This has become a yearly highlight. It has been fun seeing our church come together working towards making the evening a success.
We need you to sign up on the bulletin board across from the rest rooms – two lists are there, one for donating candy and the other for participating in the evening with a decorated trunk.
Trunk-n-Treat is on Thursday, October 31 from 6-8 pm. See Matthew Price if you have any questions – or wish to donate extension cords, lights, etc. We’ll also need volunteers to serve hot chocolate after folks make their way around the cars and greeters at the beginning too. Most of all – pray with us that God would use this American holiday for his glory.
